Because of the wonderful support I’ve received from friends, family, and fandom, I’ve reached my goal and will be able to pay my rent. Hey there,
I’m writing this on behalf of . A few of you may have heard that she had to be hospitalized multiple times last year for a life-threatening antibiotic resistant infection (here is a picture of her knee post-the second major surgery to clear out infected material WARNING VERY GRAPHIC!)
However, because of the complications and prolonged hospital stay, she had to withdraw from college, which means she lost her health insurance. Because of that loss, paying for the necessary continuing care for her knee has been a nightmare. Her parents have been helping her, but this month, due to their own sudden medical issue, they are unable to provide financial support.
Elly sold off some of her belongins so she could go to the doctor appointments she needed to, but the result is that she is not going to be able to make her rent this month ($952.74) because of medical bills both she and her parents have suffered.
After a long, painful debate with Elly about options she had, I finally convinced her to go to fandom friends for help.
In her own words: It kills me to ask for help, but I have no where else to turn. The apartment complex has given me until August 3rd to pay my rent of $952.74. If I raise the money, I will post the receipt so that you can see that the money went to keeping my roof over my head.
If anyone can donate any spare money to help my friend out, it would mean the world to both of us.
As an incentive, I can offer personalized watercolor sketches for every one who donates $10.00 or more(though I could only e-mail high res version to you, I couldn’t afford to mail them out). Or can send you 1 high res printable sticker for every dollar donated(and I’ll try to get images up of those not yet featured ASAP. I have about 40+ different character stickers and would take requests)
